Illinois Raising “Sugar Tax”

On September 1, 2009, the state of Illinois expanded and increased tax on sugary foods including energy drinks and some candies. The reason for this? The state is looking to increase revenue, and this is sure to bring in millions. Believe it or not, there is a lot of public support, not just in Illinois, for a tax on sugary foods as well as many others that can be deemed fattening. (more…)
