Idea for Bailout Alternative
I really like this idea that’s being batted around Washington, but I fear Mr. Spite is right - it won’t work. Here’s the premise, “You get to keep what you earn. That’s right. A two month tax holiday from FICA and income tax for everyone.”
In the link an article from Philadelphia’s “family newspaper” - The Bulletin - further states,
“By instating a temporary tax holiday, we could electrify the American economy and provide overwhelming relief to taxpayers, all for less than the cost of the current failed Paulson-Pelosi bailout system,” said Mr. Gohmert in a prepared statement last Friday. “We need to give this money to the people who earned it. I am sick of Washington millionaires trying to decide which of their cronies should get the next wad of taxpayer money.”
Of course the naysayers are suggesting that once we figure out just how insanely much money we pay every month to Uncle Sam, we’ll have another tax revolt on our hands and stop paying taxes altogether! Yet Hear it From Us encourages us to write to our Congressional representatives and voice our support for the proposal! Keep your tax money for two months is a great rallying cry!
