Most Tax Professionals work year round
Believe it or not, tax professionals work more than a couple months out of the year. Sure, they are most busy February through April but this doesn’t mean that they close up shop for the other months. Most tax professionals are available to help you year round. If yours is not, it may be time that you search for somebody new. After all, you never know when a tax related question is going to come up. This can happen at anytime, and if it does you need to get an answer as soon as possible.
Why would I possibly need to speak with a tax professional after I file my final return? There are many answers to this question. For example, you may receive a notice from the IRS saying that you are being audited. How would that make you feel? You would want to get in touch with your tax professional, right? To go along with this, many businesses hire a tax professional to help them keep things in order 12 months out of the year. What would you do if your help disappeared for eight months?
If you are in the process of searching for a tax professional make sure you ask about their schedule and hours throughout the year. You don’t want to hire somebody who will be around in April but not the many months after. Somebody who can help you 12 months a year is better than a part-time professional who only works during peak tax season.
Most tax professionals work year round. They are busiest in the beginning of the year through the end of April, but this doesn’t mean they disappear the rest of the time.
