A Lost Credit Card doesn’t have to be a Big Deal
This may not sound right, but a lost credit card does not have to be a big deal. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you should throw your credit card around recklessly and hope that it gets lost or stolen. But what it does mean is that if you lose your credit card, for whatever reason, you don’t have to stress out too much. There are ways that you can quickly get back on your feet, and have another credit card in your hands within a couple of days.
To start, as soon as you know that your credit card is lost you need to call the issuer and let them know. This way they can deactivate your card to ensure that nobody else uses it. If you end up finding your card this may be a pain, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
What if somebody did find my credit card and use it? In this case, your credit card company will usually pay for all of the charges over a certain amount, such as $50. It is never fun to pay any money out of your own pocket for something like this, but it is much better than owing hundreds or thousands of dollars.
As soon as you tell your company that you lost your card they can issue a new one. In most cases you will have your new credit card, complete with new numbers, in your hands within a couple of days at the most.
A lost credit card does not have to put you in a bad mood. You may be angry at yourself for losing your card, but after a few days you can have a new one in your hands and forget about this slipup.
