Student Credit Cards: Still going strong?
There will always be students who want to obtain a credit card and companies that are willing to give them out. But what about right now? With financial industries struggling, some students are finding it more difficult to get a credit card. While this may be difficult, it is far from impossible. Yes, credit card companies are being more cautious than ever before but at the same time they are interested in continuing to make money. And one way they can do this is by giving credit cards to students who will not only use them, but will also be forced to pay high finance charges.
Student credit cards are always going to be popular. Simply put, most college students do not have a lot of money. And when they realize that a student credit card can help them get everything they want, plus much more, they sign on the dotted line as soon as possible. Even though this is a bad idea, many students continue to do so.
There are some students who can benefit from a credit card, but most are doing nothing more than harming their finances while making money for the credit card companies. If you are a college student think long and hard before you apply for a credit card. Those who are responsible may be able to get by with carrying a student credit card. But if you are scared of what you may do, tell the credit card companies thanks but no thanks.
Yes, student credit cards are still available. Even though credit card companies are cutting back in some areas it is safe to say that most students can apply for and receive plastic if they are interested.
