Is your Credit Card Company making changes?
More and more credit card companies are making changes, and this has put many people in a bad mood. If you are unaware of the changes that are taking place you should open your eyes. After all, your credit card company may be the next one to implement changes that could greatly affect you.
What types of changes are taking place? For one, credit card companies are increasing interest rates on many cardholders, no matter if they have a good history of paying on time or not. This can be quite frustrating if you have been a “model customer” for many years. If you receive notice of an increased interest rate it would be in your best interest to contact your credit card company for further clarification.
Do you go through long periods of time when you don’t touch your credit card? If so, don’t be surprised if your company decides to cancel your card. Again, this is not something that is fair, but in today’s economy credit card companies find this to work in their favor. This can affect you in many ways. Not only do you lose your credit card, but your credit card score will more than likely take a hit.
Finally, it is no longer easy to receive an increase to your credit limit. There is nothing wrong with asking for an increase, but don’t be surprised if you are turned down without reason. Simply put, credit card companies are trying to protect themselves and giving out more credit is not the best way to accomplish this goal.
Just because credit card companies are making changes and involving many consumers does not mean you will be next. That being said, you should be aware of the changes that are taking place. This way you will not be totally surprised if you receive a notice of change.
