Do you even need a Credit Card?
The question of whether or not you even need a credit card is an important one to answer before you do anything silly. Many people live their life through credit cards. While this is not a good idea, there are others who are much more responsible and only use their credit cards when need be. No matter who you are, you need to know what type of person you are and whether or not you need one credit card or many.
Take this to heart: if you are not financially responsible you should not be carrying a credit card. If you do, there is a good chance that you will be facing plenty of debt in a hurry. It is entirely to easy to get into credit card debt. In fact, it only takes one minor shopping spree to get into a lot of trouble.
Believe it or not, you may find that you do not even need a credit card. There are some people, even those who are financially responsible, who have done away with credit cards. Instead, they pay for everything with cash or a debit card (which essentially acts as cash). By doing this, you only have the ability to buy what you can afford. If you have the money you can buy it. If not, there is no using a credit card and hoping to pay the debt back at a later date.
This is not to say that carrying a credit card is a bad thing. But you should realize that you do not need a credit card; it is not a necessity. Unless you can act financially responsible, you should do away with credit cards altogether.
