When is it a good Idea to go into Credit Card Debt?
Even though most people know that credit card debt is a bad thing, they find themselves in this position soon enough. Of course, there are times when using your credit card is not a bad idea. You need to know when it is okay to go into credit card debt and when this is something you should be avoiding at all costs.
Going into credit card debt is not a bad idea when making large purchases. For instance, it is easier to book an expensive vacation with a credit card than to pay in cash. Not to mention the fact that it gives you an added layer of protection.
With all of this in mind, you do not want your credit card debt to last very long. If at all possible, pay off the entire balance before you are hit with a finance charge. If you cannot do this, try to get rid of the debt as soon as possible – the higher your balance the more you will end up paying in interest.
Should I be using my credit card for daily expenses? Nobody can answer this question except you. Some people don’t have any problems using their credit card for regular expenses and then paying it off right away. Others find that this puts them into a spiral and they eventually end up with more credit card debt than they can handle.
There are times when credit card debt is okay. You need to know when these times are, and make sure that you are very careful about every dollar you spend.
