Well, maybe not crazy, but rather plumb off their rocker! We got wind of the Obama Chrysler 300C through the StarTribune.com this morning as it started bids at a reasonable $100,000. As the evening has pressed on the bidding has grown to a rather whopping $99,999,100.00.

Although this just might sound reasonable enough, considering that a half eaten waffle from the man himself was fetching some $20,000 before eBay finally stepped in and ended the auction. The waffle was a piece of American history some would say, having been eaten during Obama’s visit to the Glider Diner in Scranton.

The question of how do you know the waffle was the real thing was answered simply enough. The seller claimed that you could test the DNA on the silverware for proof. How you would go about doing that, we don’t know, but that was probably part of the reason that we didn’t put in a bid on that particular day.

How do we know that the 2005 Chrysler 300C was once owned by President-elect Obama? Park Plaza Dodge has stepped-in to verify its authentication. These are the folks who supposedly originally sold Obama the 300C for the modest price of $32,000. If you remember, he had sold it early on in the election to purchased a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid, due to some rather critical political backlash he’d been receiving about owning such a gas guzzler.

Currently the blue book on a run of the mill Chrysler 300C is somewhere around $13,500. This particular model is the 5.7 liter, V-8 Hemi, four-door sedan, with blue-gray paint. It only has 20,801 miles on the gauge according to the seller, and the bidding will be ending appropriately enough on Obama’s Inauguration Day (if eBay would allow it to go that long).
