The 2009 Hurst/Hemi Challenger

We haven’t seen the likes of a Hurst built vehicle since the days of the infamous Hurst/Oldsmobile 442. Well, clear out your garages all you Hurst and Hemi lovers, there is a new bully coming to town… the 2009 Hurst/Hemi (Limited Edition) Dodge Challenger.

Yeah, Ford may have its Roush, Foose, and Shelby Mustang GT-500, but only one make is going to be backed by Hurst pride this coming year. Hurst is celebrating 50 glorious years of breaking through the winning line, and we can think of no better way to celebrate than bring back an iconic legend… the Dodge Challenger, and do it up Hurst style.

What exactly does “Hurst style” entail? Well, we will be seeing it first hand come next month at the Las Vegas SEMA show, but we do know that it will have a Vortech supercharger breathing through an open Magnaflow exhaust. This combination has been promised to bring the 2009 Hurst Dodge Challenger no less than about 560 horsepower.

To keep most of that low end grunt to the pavement, Hurst also is going to slip on a few pairs of Bilstein shocks and Eiboch springs. For an interior upgrade, enthusiasts will be treated to Katzkin leather interiors and a Kicker audio system (of which we would rather do without). With an engine set-up like that, who needs any other music beyond the beautiful rumble of that 6.1 liter supercharged Hemi.

The Dodge Challenger is only the first of many Hurst special orders that are in the works. They are also planning to make limited edition versions of the Viper, Charger, 300C, Ram, and Grand Cherokee. The price range will list from the bottom-end Stage 1 kit, on up to “how much do you really want to spend” ultra package, which will include the “looks” upgrades, suspension upgrades, and of course the Vortech supercharger.

Okay, but we have forgotten to include one very important part of this package… Why of course, the Hurst speed equipment. What Hurst plans on throwing into the mix on these limited edition super muscle cars will be their five-spoke Hurst alloy wheels and a “Pistol-Grip” Hurst shifter (of course). Yeah baby!

The Hurst/Hemi Challenger will be slated for production in early 2009! Don’t miss the sneak peak as this years 2009 SEMA Show Las Vegas.
