The “Which Car is the Fastest” Blog Post: From A to Z (Part 2)

Cadillac

For Cadillac the clear winner in both price and speed is the CTS-V. For just over $50,000, you could be trampling over cars twice its price with its 5.7 liter V-8 and a 0-60 time of just 4 seconds. This is definitely not your grandpa’s Caddy… but maybe it should be!

Chevrolet

The fastest is by no means a surprise, the 2008 Corvette SS Z07. With 650 horsepower at its command and a blistering 3.2 seconds from 0-60, the Z07 represents everything that a muscle car should be. But speed costs money and the Z07 Corvette costs $100,000.

Topping the list of most performance for the price is a bit of a surprise. For just $34,000 the Chevrolet Trailblazer SS SUV is a mean customer at a stoplight. We are talking close to 400 horsepower and an impressive 0-60 of just 5.4 seconds.

Chrysler

Chrysler certainly has some nice vehicles this year, but none of them cross into the 3 second barrier unfortunately. On a positive note though, they do not go much over the $50,000 price tag either. The meanest for your buck is the 300C SRT-8. With its massive 6.1 liter V-8, 425 horsepower, and 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds. The 300C is one classy muscle car for the young at heart executive.

Dodge

The biggest problem with Dodge performance, is that most of their retro muscle cars of the modern era are just too darn heavy to give them the huge potential that each of these beasts carry. The Viper however is always there to back Dodge up and make sure that it stays in the limelight of ultimate performance. The best Viper that money can buy is the 2008 Viper Roadster. The Viper can pull an impressive 0-60 time in just 3.5 seconds using its patented 8.4 liter V-10 engine with 600 horsepower under the hood. It won’t come cheap though, with a hefty price tag of no less than $92,000.

If you would rather pay off your home than own a Viper, then your next best bet is the 2008 Challenger R/T. The Challenger is a beautiful example of the retro muscle car meets today’s technology. It holds a 6.1 liter V-8 with 425 horsepower. It can do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and all with a price tag that should bring a smile from ear to ear at just $30,000.
