What Kind of Car Would Santa Drive?
Well, let’s see. He’s got a huge pack of elves he has to drag around on the weekdays to dentist appointments (all those candy canes they eat) and such, he has a wife to answer to, snowy roads can be a bit of a problem, and of course he is known to have a bit of a lead foot!
Fastest Production Station Wagon in the World
Well, he would certainly not have much of a choice beyond the new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. This is the station wagon for the enthusiast who would rather have an Enzo Ferrari, but just can’t talk the wife into strapping that baby seat to the engine bay.

Yes, the Mercedes E65 AMG is not only known for its comfort, room, quality, safety, and nifty looks, but when this soccer mom mobile pulls up to a red light… Mustang GT’s wet themselves, Corvettes quiver, and yes even the Ferrari guys will be trying to pretend they don’t see you in case she is in the mood to race.
This Mercedes-Benz wagon is officially the fastest station wagon in production in the world. Sure the M5 could beat it in cornering, braking, and heavy maneuvering… but as soon as a straight away comes into view, the M5 can kiss itself goodbye as the Mercedes 507 horsepower, 6.2 liter V8 opens its airways and takes a long deep breath. A breath that will last about 4.3 seconds on a 0 to 60 spurt.
The new Mercedes-Benz E65 AMG is taking the place of the old E55 and its not so shabby 469 supercharged V8… It has 38 more horsepower, but 51 lbs less torque (465 lb.-ft. at 5200 rpm versus 516 at 2650), but I doubt anyone would even notice its gone.
The new Mercedes station wagon features paddle shifting on the steering wheel, much like a formula racer, that offer smooth and precise shifts that can be tailored to the drivers mood. Are you in the mood to go fast, really fast, or incredibly, mind-boggling fast? I guess it would depend on how many soccer kids you had in the car screaming, “Drive fast like Speed Racer.â€
We can all rest assure that we will be getting our presents in time this year thanks to Mercedes-Benz and AMG technician, Rainer Laukemann!!!

I think it’s astonishing that you don’t mention the MPG for this car. Santa has a long way to go; surely that–perhaps even more than speed–would be important….
